Letter from the President: Profile in Courage Award goes to All MaAOHN Members
Posted over 4 years ago by Penny-Allyson Clark
Dear MaAOHN Member:
The Massachusetts Association of Occupational Health Nurses has a Profiles in Courage Award that recognizes a nurse that possesses courage in the face of adversity. The nurse demonstrates leadership qualities and faces challenges with a strong resolve to improve the quality of health and safety in the workplace. The recipient is an advocate for clients and colleagues. The nurse recognizes and evaluates important causes and assists in finding and implementing solutions.
This is an unprecedented year. Occupational and public health nurses have been challenged by the global pandemic. The coronavirus has impacted the economy, businesses, supply chain, government, and the health and wellbeing of our people. Health education of management, workers, and their families has been crucial. Companies, in this year of need, have noticed and finally understand the important role the Occupational Health Nurse plays in the health and wellbeing of employees. Our nurses have risen to this incredible challenge with poise, hard work, long hours, continuous learning, professionalism, and frankly, courage
Therefore, it is our unanimous decision by the MaAOHN Board Members that the 2020 Profiles in Courage Award shall be presented to each current MaAOHN member in recognition of an outstanding effort this year by each member to provide quality services for employees, employers, their families, and the public. Congratulations to you! The awards shall be announced at the NECOEM Conference on December 3-4, 2020.
Reach out to any Board Member (www.MaAOHN.com/contact) if there is anything we can do to support you. Be safe. Take wonderful care of yourself so that you may be your best in your professional and personal roles during this time.
Sincerely,
Penny-Allyson Clark RN, BSN, COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN
President
