Lifetime Achievement Award: Margaret C. Stashluk, RN, COHN-S/CM
Margaret’s many contributions to the profession of Occupational Health Nursing and to the MaAOHN organization are limitless. Always the consummate professional with relentless enthusiasm, Margaret exemplifies the qualities of an Occupational Health Nurse leader. Together, she served on the MaAOHN and Central MA. Board of Directors for a combined twenty-one years. Since 2013, Margaret served as the MaAOHN Membership and Nominating Chair, and participated on the annual NECOEM/MaAOHN Annual Conference Planning Committee from 2013 through 2017. During this time, Margaret was recognized for her unwavering efforts and encouragement of OH nurses to join and support the vibrant MaAOHN organization we know today. In 1996, Margaret received the MaAOHN Nurse Excellence Award, and in 2015 was presented with the Medique Leadership Award.
Margaret began her nursing career working in several Worcester area hospitals’ critical care units. She started in Occupational Health as a per diem nurse followed by an OH nursing position at Data General Corporation. Not long after, Margaret continued her Occupational Health career at Digital Equipment. She transitioned to Intel-Hudson, MA and pursued a global, world-wide Occupational Health Nursing position at Intel. Her passion for OH Nursing continued throughout her career, and received her Certification in Occupational Health Nursing in 1994. The following year, Margaret facilitated a COHN study group for Digital and Registered Nurses advancing their Occupational Health careers. In 2004, Margaret received her Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist and Case Manager.
Margaret retired from Intel when manufacturing ended at the Hudson, MA factory in 2015. Through this transition, she provided continuity of wellbeing for all employees as their advocate and trusted advisor; a steadfast Occupational Health Nurse champion.
Margaret, congratulations on receiving the 2019 Life Time Achievement Award for your accomplishments both personally and professionally. Your hard work is an inspiration to MaAOHN and those who follow.
