Qualifications and Experience Education/Degree Required · Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Preferred · Master’s Degree in Nursing highly preferred. Experience Required · A minimum of four years of diverse and well rounded clinical experience required. Preferred · Experience relevant to the clinical specialties of the unit preferred. Licensure Required · Current license from Massachusetts Board of Registration as Registered Nurse. Summary Join Mass General Brigham as a Nurse Director and make a tangible difference in patient care. This essential leadership role comes with 24-hour accountability for nursing care on a patient care unit. You will offer administrative leadership and clinical expertise, ensuring comprehensive care and treatment for our patients and residents. By managing human and material resources efficiently, you will meet patient needs cost-effectively. This role also involves participating in quality improvement and program development activities, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to craft, implement, and evaluate unit programs. Key Responsibilities - Maintain 24-hour accountability for nursing care delivered on the patient care unit. - Coordinate daily nursing operations to achieve patient-centered service, quality, and cost objectives. - Actively manage nursing staffing to ensure safe levels and meet budgetary constraints. - Deliver nursing services in line with professional standards, the strategic nursing plan, and organizational policies. - Foster continued education and research to advance clinical practice. - Monitor and maintain unit compliance to meet licensing and accrediting standards. - Deliver culturally proficient care using evidence-based practice interventions. - Assess and monitor patient documentation to ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. - Identify performance improvement opportunities and implement solutions to achieve established goals. - Participate in marketing and outreach programs to increase understanding of unit services. - Hire, mentor, and continually develop team members to meet performance goals, completing evaluations accurately and timely. - Align the business/unit plan with PCC strategy, updating it annually to drive market and organizational goals. - Monitor the budget to achieve financial objectives. - Exhibit proficiencies aligned with the American Nurses’ Association’s Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice and the American Organization of Nurse Executives’ Nurse Executive Competencies. - Complete additional department, organization, or network activities as per established objectives. - Uphold the PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities - Coordinate a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring high standards of care and performance.
