Charge Nurse for Fresenius Medical Care in in-center hemodialysis

Teresa Villaran has over 36 years of nursing experience. She works for Fresenius Medical Care in in-center hemodialysis as a charge nurse for a 16-chair unit. She currently serves as the secretary for the KNA Governmental Affairs Cabinet, as a KNA Editorial Reviewer, and is a past member of the KNA BOD. She currently sits on the American Nephrology Nurses Association BOD. Teresa earned a master of science in nursing from the University of Kentucky; a master of science from the California College of Health Sciences; and a bachelor of science from the University of Illinois.

Necholyia “Nicky” Wright
Necholyia “Nicky” Wright DNP, MSN, BSN, RN

Orthopedic Program Coordinator at Baptist Health Louisville

Necholyia “Nicky” Wright is an Orthopedic Program Coordinator at Baptist Health Louisville who also serves as the Research & Evidence-Based Council co-chair and is a member of the Nursing Research Oversight Team. Nicky is also involved with Kentucky Nurses Association in various roles such as COVID vaccination and testing team leader and is the KNA Continuing Education Administrator. She has a doctor of nursing leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing; both a master of science degree and bachelor of science from Indiana Wesleyan University; an associate degree from Galen College of Nursing; and she also worked as an LPN for 17 years.

Seth Allgood
Seth Allgood RN

ICU RN

Seth Allgood currently serves as an RN in ICU at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center and also serves at the Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) at ContinueCARE at Baptist Health Paducah. He has previous experience in the banking industry both as a branch manager and business development officer. He is on track to complete his bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Louisville in Spring 2024, and received his nursing degree from West Kentucky Community & Technical College.

Barbara Bloom APRN-BC

APRN in Palliative Care Homecare setting

Barbara Bloom has been a nurse practitioner for more than two years and served over 16 years as a registered nurse in both ER and ICU. She is currently working as an APRN at Community Palliative and Hospice of Ashland assessing, providing detailed HPI, prescribing, and managing care for critically and chronically ill patients. She earned her Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner APRN-BC degree from Shawnee State University; her bachelor of science in nursing from Ashland Community and Technical College and an associate degree in science from the Certified Cardiovascular Institute.

Marlena Buchanan MSN, RN, CNS

Clinical faculty-medical/surgical unit

Marlena Buchanan has a background of 43 years of nursing working as a staff nurse in medical-surgical nursing and intensive care and as serving as nursing faculty at an associate degree nursing program. Currently serving as the clinical instructor for the University of Southern Indiana from 2018 to present, she has taught online courses and worked on the clinical faculty-medical/surgical unit. She received a master of science in nursing at University of Southern Indiana, a bachelor of science in nursing at University of Southern Indiana and an associate degree applied science in nursing degree at Paducah Community College.
